路易基（埃德瓦·贝耶 Edouard Baer 饰）经营着一家剧院，曾经，这家剧院也拥有过非常辉煌的岁月，优秀的剧目轮番上演，看台上观众座无虚席。但随着时间的流逝，这热闹的一幕渐渐成为了泡影，如今，剧院濒临倒闭的命运，而路易基对此却无能为力。
终于，路易基找到了唯一可以拯救剧院的方法，那就是找一头货真价实的黑猩猩来剧院表演，但是留给路易基的时间只有一天。虽然这看似是根本不可能完成的任务，但为了挽回员工和朋友们对自己的信任，路易基还是硬着头皮上了。在此过程中，路易基克服了常人难以想象的困难，他能够顺利完成任务吗？
